Lauren Rae Mace, born in the UK and raised in America, started dancing at the age of five. At the age of 14, she was admitted to the Interlochen Arts Academy (USA) in Performance Arts. She has participated in summer courses at the School of American Ballet, the Joffrey Ballet, the Alonzo King LINES Contemporary Ballet and the Regional Dance America. She has also studied at the California Institute for the Arts Dance and Psychology and at the International School for Corporeal Mime in London.
Lauren Rae Mace worked as a dancer, musician, filmmaker and performance artist with various artists and companies, including the Long Beach Opera, Empire of Teeth, Tai Shani, Jonathan Fredrickson and the collective DUNK, which focuses on a fusion of experimental music and performance focused. She performed at the Barbican and Tate Britain in London, Bauhaus East (Berlin) and at the LOOP Festival in Barcelona.
Since the 2012/2013 season, she has appeared as a dancer at the Staatstheater in productions such as Readymades, 100,000 Superstars and Aurora. In 2015 she became the rehearsal director for Johannes Wieland and will become the Dramaturg and Director of Company Management in September 2018.
