Mark C. Hewitt is a writer, theatremaker and director of live literature productions.

As a writer, his café play, The Revenge Fantasy Club, was nominated for the Best New Play Award at Brighton Fringe 2013. He has collaborated on two productions with composer Peter Copley: scrublands (2012) and Expiry tbc (2013). In 2012 he received a grant from the Artists International Development Fund to initiate a new collaboration with Norwegian sampling percussionist, Thomas Strønen, leading to a new work for theatre currently in development, working title: Civilization (and its discontents).

As a director he has developed over 12 productions since 2009, including Dementia Diaries by Maria Jastrzebska (LLL Productions, 2009/2011), Puff by John Agard (Crosspath Theatre, 2013) and Zones of Avoidance by Maggie Sawkins (2013), which was winner of The Ted Hughes Award for New Work in Poetry.

He is founder and Artistic Director of Blank Productions (focused on interdisciplinary collaborations) and LLL Productions (a live literature production company). In 2010, he co-founded intercultural company, Crosspath Theatre, with poets John Agard and Grace Nichols. In 2015 he co-founded ZoA poetry productions with poet Maggie Sawkins.
