Magdalena Ptasznik performer, choreographer, graduate of School for New Dance Development in Amsterdam and Sociology at Warsaw University. Recipient of danceWEB scholarship 2011 (ImPulsTanz Festival, Vienna). Magdalena is the author of, mainly solo, works (eg. “surface.territory”, “exercises for a Hero”) which she presented in Holland, Germany, Romania, Portugal and Poland. She participated in projects and workshops by Deborah Hay, La Ribot, Meg Stuart, Ann Liv Young, Benoît Lachambre, Xavier Le Roy, Ria Highler, Robert Steijn among others. Her last work, choreographic prformance-installation was created in collaboration with a dramaturge Eleonora Zdebiak.
Her main interests focuses around the relation between the body and the material environment. She thinks about choreography as a tool for facilitating conditions for different experience of time and space. She considers the body as a vehicle of this experience. Alongside to developing an artistic practice she is engaged in developing artist-run workspace in Warsaw - CENTRUM W RUCHU (CENTER IN MOTION).
