After graduating with a Tourism Degree, I moved from my native Canary Islands to Madrid to train at Conservatorio Profesional de Danza Comandante Fortea.
From 2009 - 2012 I worked as a dancer for Madrid based company Cia. Meyling Bisogno, and in 2010 was also engaged in an international production for the Korean choreographer Hyauk-jin Geon (JinJin).
After this period I decided to stop performing professionally, and moved my attention to Arts Production / Management.
Working as Tour Manager & Production Assistant of MASDANZA in the past 12 years
has equipped me with vital skills for efficient people management and logistical organisation. Through the interpersonal nature of the role, and the enthusiasm that I brought in my position, I was able to make the most of the opportunity to develop an international dance network.
Moving from Madrid to London I was able to secure an internship at Hofesh Shechter Company, by way of a recommendation from John Ashford (Artistic Director, Aerowaves). This gave me an insight into how a dance company of this calibre tours internationally, and the responsibilities involved with making it happen.
In Spring 2014, I started volunteering at TripSpace Projects, a ‘start up’ project dedicated to movement, dance and contemporary performance. Within a year I was Assistant Production Manager of this now popular East London cultural space.
While working at TripSpace I was also engaged as a freelance ‘producer’ for the
Italian choreographer FRANCESCA FOSCARINI, taking care of the promotion &
communication of her artistic work.
Currently I am working as a free lancer in Dance Production & Management with the following companies “free fall” & BQ -MR Dance Company.
