Ayça Ceylan who is a performance artist and performance curator, has been producing the experiments about the perception process in human body using that dance, psychology and technology. In her experiments, she has been researching on how the body and space construct each other. These research process was set up with her performances and workshops that involve the interchangeable position of the audience and the performer. She prefers many kinds of spaces such as public space, abandoned space, ancient cities that affect to our archetypal mind for her performances and workshops. Construction of her performances' process start with her body who reach the researching space, continue movements research and then she searches with resources about the memory of the space. Furthermore, the other bodies on the space, how her body and the other bodies affect each other and what kind of exchange situation in human bodies are the important datas in her construction process. Bodies who have interacted each other without words transfer their self-changes by the memory of the body. After she has graduated in Mechanical Engineering at Yıldız Technical University, her education process is continued in Performing Arts Department at Istanbul Bilgi University. Also she will finish her deparment with thesis which focuses on the institutional archive problem in performance art in Turkey since 1990. Also, she is the founder of Bodyinperform (BiP).
*bodyinperform is an İstanbul based performance art platform founded by performance artist & curator Ayça Ceylan. bodyinperform BİPperformance aims to take part in the discussions on performance theory and to increase the multiplicity of the productions in the field of performance art by bringing together performance artists, curators, researchers and audience. It consists of five sections as BİPperformance, BİPworkshop, BİPtalks, BİPexhibition, BİPfilm.
