Anthony E. Gallo is a playwright whose eleven copyrighted, published, work shopped, and produced works include Margherita, Eugenio, Better than the Best, Vandergrift!, Lincoln and God, Charleston Revisited, The Botticelli Cruise, Saul, Heathcliff in America, and the Dynastic Trilogy(The Agony of David, The Last Days of King Solomon, and The Tragedy of King Saul). His drama portfolio consists of over fifty works.
On November 16, 2011, Mr. Gallo signed a contract with Browne-Nederlander Productions LLC for the production of Margherita in New York City.
Mr .Gallo is also a librettist and lyricist. Currently he is working on two musicals. He is collaborating with Alan Gershwin, son of the late George Gershwin) on the opera Lincoln and God and the musical Vandergrift. He is working with composer Aaron Forbes on the rock opera The Agony of David.
The year 2012 will see nine stagings of Mr. Gallo's plays including two full productions following fifty y performances between between 2007 and 2011. HelenMary Ball directed and starred in a critically acclaimed production of Vandergrift! at the Greenbelt Arts Center in Maryland. His plays have been staged over eighty times in total, including six productions and have been performed in Washington, DC, New York City, Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. The thirty venues include: The U.S. Department of State, The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the Harvard Club of Boston, The National Press Club, the Universalist Stage, The Dramatists Guild of America, Cosmos Theatre, Playwrights Forum, Knollwood, New York University, the Warehouse Theatre, Casa Italiana, Peter Marshall Stage at the New York Avenue Presbyterian Church, Capital Fringe/ Woolley Mammoth Theatre, Capital Fringe/ Universalist Stage, Silver Spring Stage/PF, Where Eagles Dare Theatre(NYC), , The Arts Club of Washington, New York International Midtown Festival/Dorothy Strelsin Stage, Abingdon Theatre (NYC), The New Kensington Civic Theatre, St. John's Church(MD), The Corner Store Stage on Capitol Hill, Seventh Street Playhouse, Casino Theatre, St. Mary Armenian Church, the Greenbelt Arts Center in Maryland, The Armed Services Retirement Home in Washington, and Ingleside at Rock Creek.
