Alexis Tsiamoglou (1981) completed acting studies at the Drama Research Centre of Thessaloniki and then studied at the Professional Dance Schools of Rallou Manou in Athens and of Kafantari in Thessaloniki.
He has also attended dance workshops internationally, with Kirstie Simson, Abigail Yager, David Zambrano, les Slovaks, Matej Keszar and Lali Ayguade.
Since 2008 he has worked with choreographers and dance companies as Sinequanon, Default, 50 Collective, David Zambrano and Lia Tsolaki.
In 2013 he participated in the film “Fabric of Time” of Miky Ambrozy which won the Wild Card Award in the International short film Festival in Leuven.
His own work “Encounter” and “Crossroads” has been presented in the Athens Videodance Festival, the Re:Act Festival in Greece and the International Contemporary Dance Festival in Bari, Italy.
Lately, next to his chorographic work he has directed,produced and edited his own short films (self portrait #1 and #2, Silent mourning)
He has been awarded with an ICK—Amsterdam fellowship in order to participate to the SPAZIO program 2013-2014 for new contemporary dance choreographers.
He has given workshops on contemporary dance and improvisation classes in Italy, Hungary, Spain, Netherlands and Greece. Since 2008 he is coaching groups of young people on how to create their own dance projects and performances, in the framework of the EU “Youth in Action” program. These works have been presented in public spaces, prisons and cultural centers.
